Striking posters and banners popping up around our town are announcing the last few days to get tickets for The Mayor of Rugby’s Charity Concert 2017. The programme for the show has been finalised and includes a whole series of songs from shows and films which will ensure the cabaret-style event is one of the highlights of Cllr Bragg’s tenure in the top spot.
The Mayor, pictured above, is hosting the party at Rugby’s Benn Hall next Friday (20 January). A cast of some 50 musicians and singers will be providing a performance spectacular including some of our best known film songs, plus mini-versions of The Wizard of Oz and Les Miserables that feature the best loved numbers from those shows.
The event is being organised by one of the mayor’s chosen charities, Rugby Area Talent Trust (RATT). David Head, one of the organisers from RATT, said “We have a brilliant line up of musicians and vocalists, and there will be a few surprises on the night too. The audience shouldn’t take anything for granted, that’s for sure – this definitely isn’t an archetypal stuffy civic hall concert”.
Information and tickets are available from The Benn Hall counter or online at www.ratt.org.uk (and click on the “Showtime” link).
