Three local community-conscious businesses have got behind Mayor Sally Bragg by supporting her Charity Concert next month, raising funds for two Rugby-based good causes.
The Mayor of Rugby’s Charity Concert takes place at the Benn Hall on 20 January and profits from the events are going to support Rugby Area Talent Trust and Mouth Cancer Awareness. Brethertons Solicitors and Hinckley & Rugby Building Society are now sponsoring the main stage entertainment, and Marks & Spencer’s store at Elliotts Field, Rugby, are providing food for the cabaret supper.
The event brings together music from local covers band Last Lesson, several young talented singers supported by RATT, and performances from theatre company Five Star, who will be previewing their 2017 shows The Wizard of Oz and Les Miserable. David Head, Trustee at RATT, said “We are so proud to have been chosen by the Mayor as one of her charities this year, and absolutely delighted and excited to be putting together the concert. It’s an unusual collection of music on the main stage and throughout the Benn Hall building, and quite different from your usual civic hall event. We can’t wait.
“The cabaret-style and supper format has been made possible by our supporters and by a cast of some 50 performers, it will be quite some spectacle.”
